Aunjanue The. Ellis Taylor is an American actor and producer. She received a BA in Brown University in African-American Studies. In the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University she earned an MFA. Aunjanue Lisa Ellis, a producer as well as an American actress active in theatre as well as television and film. Her career in acting began at the theater. She then appeared in numerous television shows as well as independent and mainstream film. She came to prominence as Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico as well as on BET's epic series The Book of Negroes for that she was not only rewarded with praise from critics but also received a host of nominations and awards including a Television Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Actress in a Film. Her debut on stage in the role of Ariel, as Ariel, The Tempest. On Broadway she was a part of the cast as a character in Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Seeking the Genesis and Joe Turner's Come and Gone. In her film career, she is best known for her role in movies such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. On television her regular role in ABC's police drama series High Incident has earned her praises.
