Alison Krauss
Alison Krauss' first taste of recognition as a fiddler happened in the year 1990 when she was just 19 years old, and received the Grammy Award in the category of Best Bluegrass Album. The win was a feat not just due to her age, but also because the album which earned her such recognition, I've Got That Old Feeling was actually third release in Krauss's catalog. Too Late to Cry was her first release, and was made available at the Champaign Illinois born artist's age sixteen. She had already signed with Rounder Records, one of the most prestigious folk labels in the age group of fourteen. In addition, her achievements in such a short time as well as her amazing virtuosity have always been matched by her faithfulness to bluegrass. Bluegrass is one of the oldest and most overlooked form of traditional American form of musical expression. Krauss was a mature performer and producer who had grown from being a teenage star.
